First United Methodist Springdale

We were contacted by the First United Methodist Church in Springdale for a special project. They had two existing oak trees that had been planted in memory of previous members many, many years ago. The trees had become so large that grass was no longer able to grow well beneath the trees. They wanted to spruce up the area in which these two trees were planted for use by church members, wedding parties, and the community. Our designer, Susan, created a beautiful main path through the space made of decomposed sandstone. In the center between the trees, she designed an icthys with a cross out of flagstone and natural cut stone edging. Outside of the main path, Susan created planted spaces that related to the colors in the historic church’s stained glass windows as well as secondary mulch paths with benches. These benches were arranged in intimate clusters for Sunday School use as well as passersby.
