Sera Residence

On a drive to an early spring horse show, landscape designer Susan was captivated by the colors surrounding her. The purple redbud flowers. The chartreuse newly emerging leaves. The darker green maturing leaves. Inspired by these beautiful colors of early spring, this design brought the Sera’s landscape to life.

The color scheme was continued into the backyard through plants better suited to a shadier environment. There was an existing retaining wall that they wanted to lengthen. Since the existing wall was not designed for structural use, we replaced the entire wall with Keystone Harrington Wall Block in Ozark blend. They also wanted to create a better landing from the side yard to the outdoor storage entrance. To accommodate this, we added a second retaining wall that ran along the fence and then curved around to create the transition to the lower area. We also laid new fescue sod to refresh turf that was thinning.

This project has it all: color, creative topography, and beautiful curves!
